Default Update/Anet connection not working

I'm having a problem, where when you launch the launcher and wait for any misc. updates/or just connect to the client.

It's been 4 hours, and it still hasn't done anything. It still remains a flat 0, and I don't know what to do.

For the people who don't know what I'm talking about, it's this

I've gotten this for 4 hours. Nothing has happened, and I want to play Gw.

I have Vista, I tried running as adminstrator.

Firewall is off.

UAC is off (try turning it back on)?

What do I do? Please help!

Have you tried just reinstalling? Has it worked before?

UAC should not affect this in any way.

Haven't tried re-installing.

I'll go dig up my Nightfall disk. Do I need prophecies disk as well?

If you have NOD32 Anti-Virus installed, it's owning your face.

I have Norton and Windows Defender on. I'll go ahead and re-install while turning them off.
